粉末冶金工艺在汽车工业中受到了特别的重视

粉末冶金(PM)是将金属粉末与金属粉末或金属粉末与非金属粉末按需要的比例混合后在模腔内压制成型，然后经过烧结和精整成为粉末冶金机械零件的工艺。它是一种节材、节能、投资少、见效快、无污染、适合大批生产的少、无切削、高效金属成型工艺，已经在汽车、摩托车、农机生产等行业中得到了广泛的应用，尤其在汽车工业中受到了特别的重视。近年来，使用粉末冶金(PM)工艺制造的应用于汽车动力系统的零件在持续增长，这是由于PM工艺制造的零件有许多重要独特的优点，它能降低成本、改进使用性能、减轻零件的重量及保护环境。粉末冶金技术可以生产用普通熔炼法无法生产的具有某些特殊性能的材料和零件，粉末冶金零件的残余多孔结构使其具有自润滑性和隔音性。虽然PM工业的初衷之一是消除所有的机加工，但是这个目标还没有达到，大多数零件是‘接近最终形状’，仍然需要精加工获得要求的精度及表面粗糙度。然而由于粉末冶金材料的结构不同于铸件和锻件，因此它们的加工性能也有其特殊性。
